Powerflushing

Powerflushing is the most efficient and effective method of cleaning your central heating system.

Over time, systems build up with Black Iron Oxide (commonly known as ‘Sludge’), that will start to corrode your system from inside out. If left untreated, this sludge will move around the system causing blocked pipes, valves and even heat exchangers which could result in long term damage.

If you are noticing any of the following within your central heating system, you may need a powerflush:

  • Cold spots in radiators
  • Banging noises from boiler
  • Leaking radiators and valves
  • Regular bleeding of radiatorsAdey Magnaclean2
  • Repeated pump failures
  • Boiler frequently cutting out
  • System taking a long time to heat up

The benefits of powerflushing your system are:

  • Hot radiators without any cold spots
  • Reduction of boiler noise
  • Increased pump life
  • Less risk of any boiler breakdown
  • Faster radiator ‘heat up’ times
  • Reduction of gas bills (up to 25%)
  • An all-round more efficient central heating system

A powerflush works by connecting a high pressure pumping unit to your central heating system where high strength cleansing chemicals are added. Systems are heated up to 80 degrees to ensure all sludge and debris are fully broken down and drained to waste, giving your system the highest cleanse possible. UltraGas work each and every radiator on the circuit until it is completely clear. Once flushed, we add an inhibitor to protect your system.

If you are upgrading your boiler to a high efficiency condensing boiler, then a power flush is strongly recommended. All boiler manufacturers insist that heating systems are thoroughly flushed in accordance with BS7593 which will prevent any guarantees being invalid.
